Good practices in sustainability and bioeconomy: a local look for a global vision

The event aimed to present four distinct initiatives, all located in Puglia, focusing on topics of great strategic value such as the circular bioeconomy, environmental education and pollution.

The event opened with institutional greetings by Isabella Pisano (University Center of Excellence for Sustainability, Department of Biosciences, Biotechnology and Environment, University of Bari). This was followed by Leonardo Gaiani (SPRING - Italian Circular Bioeconomy Cluster) and Vito Pignatelli (Italian Biomass Association), who presented the RURALBIOUP Project.

Afterwards, Enrico Altamura presented a report on the 2023 activities of 2hands Organization, while Maria Teresa Salvati of Everything is Connected illustrated the Environmental Emotional Project.

Next, Francesco Castellano and Antonino Biundo, Ph.D. from Tondo presented the Taranto Circular Project, presenting a report on the circularity of the city of Taranto.

Amedeo Lepore, Spring Cluster Advisor, then spoke to present BIOECONOMY - First direct territorial survey of Italian companies and production chains in the bioeconomy.

The event concluded with a panel discussion by Radio Uniba, and in the afternoon the organization planned a Technical Visit at the Progeva and Fertileva plant.
