On 27 and 28 March, the Taranto Chamber of Commerce will host the event “Strategic planning of port systems: apparent vulnerabilities and opportunities for the sustainable development of intermodal transport and territorial revitalisation”, an initiative focused on some of the most relevant issues currently shaping the future of Italian port systems and the strategic development of local areas. Tondo will take part in the initiative as a partner.
The event is intended as an opportunity for interdisciplinary dialogue: its focus is not limited to the port in the strict sense, but extends to the broader ecosystem of relationships involving intermodal transport, digitalisation, the environment, energy, and urban regeneration. This approach makes the initiative especially relevant for those who see Taranto as a strategic hub in processes of connectivity, innovation and territorial renewal.
Over the two days, four main thematic sessions will be addressed:
- TALK I: Port System Authorities in the evolution of the regulatory framework
- TALK II: Digitalisation and data interoperability
- TALK III: Sustainable inland port development and urban regeneration
- TALK IV: Financial autonomy and strategic dimension: towards sustainable intermodality
The day of Friday, 27 March, will open with institutional greetings. The programme will then move into the first talk, dedicated to the role of Port System Authorities in the evolving regulatory framework. In the afternoon, discussions will continue with the second talk on digitalisation and data interoperability, followed by the third talk dedicated to sustainable inland port development and urban regeneration.
The day of Saturday, 28 March, will instead be dedicated to the fourth talk, focusing on financial autonomy and the strategic dimension.
The programme brings together representatives from institutions, academia, port authorities, and organisations active in the fields of infrastructure, logistics, innovation and sustainability, confirming the cross-cutting nature of the initiative.
For Tondo, it will be a pleasure to take part in this moment of discussion and networking, contributing to the reflection on issues that are closely connected to the present and future of the Taranto area.
