Comune di Taranto
The regeneration of the Taranto area is powerfully and concretely manifested in the cultural context, an area that represents a fundamental pillar for the sustainable and innovative development of the territory. The “MediNEB-Biennale del Mediterraneo” project is an emblematic example of this vision, standing as tangible evidence of the efforts undertaken to enhance the cultural and creative heritage of the city and its hinterland.
Conceived by the Taranto Municipal Administration and implemented through close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and the Apulia Region, the project aims to transform the city into an international reference center. Its main ambition is the creation, right in the heart of the city of the two seas, of a Mediterranean Center dedicated to research and innovation in the cultural and creative sectors.
This center will not only be a physical place, but a meeting point of cultures, skills and professionalism, a space where innovative ideas and ambitious projects will take shape to contribute to the growth of the New European Bauhaus. The latter, as a vision promoted by the European Commission, aims to combine sustainability, aesthetics and inclusiveness to redesign the places we live in and the ways we relate to the environment and communities.
Through the “MediNEB-Biennial of the Mediterranean,” Taranto aims not only to regenerate its urban and cultural fabric, but also to become part of a wider network of international exchanges and collaborations, consolidating its role as a bridge between the different shores of the Mediterranean. This project represents a historic opportunity to reinterpret the future of the city and its territory, turning them into symbols of a renewal that combines tradition and innovation.
