The Sequencing Batch Biofilter Granular Reactor (SBBGR) system employs a granular biofilter that enables wastewater treatment to be carried out in a single unit with high efficiency, simplifying the process and significantly reducing sludge production and wastewater treatment plant surface area. Thanks to this configuration, the system can cope with variable pollutant loads while maintaining high purification performance and ensuring effective results even under complex operating conditions.
The MULESL biological system, on the other hand, focuses on residual sludge management by transforming the existing activated sludge into a special sludge consisting of biofilms and granules bound to a porous plastic material. This process improves the separation of active biomass and decreases the total volume of materials to be disposed of, contributing to a more sustainable approach to waste management.
The integration of SBBGR and MULESL provides a complete solution for water purification, minimizing both operational costs and environmental impact. These technologies have received international recognition for their effectiveness and sustainability, representing an important step toward more environmentally friendly and innovative water treatment. Through this synergy, high quality results and significant improvement in wastewater management can be achieved.
