CrioPurA
CrioPurA has developed a polymeric cryogel to remove toxic contaminants from water, such as arsenic, chromium, boron, phosphates, and other oxyanions. Its development addresses critical environmental and strategic needs in the era of water scarcity and resource recovery—particularly for phosphates, a finite resource concentrated in politically unstable areas.
CrioPurA contributes to the circular economy by providing an eco-friendly and customizable solution for water purification. This innovative absorbent material lasts longer than traditional filters and can be regenerated multiple times, reducing both costs and waste. Furthermore, it is customizable in shape and size, fits into existing systems without major disruptions, and is manufactured using an ecological process that reduces CO2 emissions and disposal costs. In addition to purification, it enables the recovery of valuable elements (such as phosphates), transforming waste into a new resource.
Thanks to its customizable design, solid intellectual property, and scalable production capabilities, the company is well-positioned to seize opportunities in the growing water treatment market. The technology is covered by patents in Europe, China, and the USA.
